CASA, A Voice for Children
What We Do:
Make a difference in the lives of abused and/or neglected children. Provide critical advocacy and support for children from newborn to 20 in the foster care system. Provide a caring, stable and consistent adult to help children cope with adversity and develop resilience.
CASA trains, supervises and supports volunteers who are dedicated to helping children in foster care. Volunteers meet with the children on a regular basis, assessing their living situation and providing support through a caring and stable relationship to help the child cope with the trauma they have experienced.
A long term, stable relationship like those through CASA is the single most important factor influencing positive outcomes for children in foster care. All children in foster care need and deserve the opportunity for a better future — a future that includes being safe, being cared for, and the chance to succeed in life.
Other Ways to Help:
- Become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for a child in foster care.
- Become a CASA board member.
- Help with the annual CASA event “The Art of Helping Children”.
- Invite CASA to speak to your business or community organization.
- Hold an event for CASA and introduce us to your family and friends.
Business Partners:
The James H. Stoppello Law Firm will match the first $1,500 in donations to CASA through CanDo’s Give!Guide.
