Napa Valley State Parks Association

Napa Valley State Parks Association

What We Do:

NVSPA supports our three Napa Valley state parks by partnering with the Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District to provide financial, interpretive, and volunteer assistance. This includes children’s environmental education, school tour and busing subsidies, public historical and cultural events, and creating new interpretive resources.

Our parks receive no state park funding and have remained open and staffed during the pandemic, providing county residents as well as visitors with hundreds of hours of hiking, rock climbing, biking, camping, and the refuge of nature and fresh air. While the pandemic has resulted in the temporary closure of Bale Grist Mill, it has provided a window of opportunity to undertake the major restoration of the mill’s waterwheel without disrupting normal operation of public tours. The mill restoration, at a cost of $115,000, has been completely funded by NVSPA with money raised through our various fundraising events.

Other Ways to Help:

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Volunteer coordinator
  • Data processing expertise

Donations needed:

  • Wood chipper

Business Partners:

Two Friends Foundation will match dollar for dollar all funds received by NVSPA through CanDo’s Give Guide.

This restoration work [of the Bale Grist Mill water wheel] would not be possible without the support of Napa Valley State Parks Association and our generous donors and supporters.
