On The Move: VOICES
What We Do:
Help approximately 2,000 emancipated youth successfully transition out of foster care, group homes, mental health treatment, and probation into independent adulthood. Programs support college and career readiness, housing and independent living skills, health and wellness, and youth leadership and advocacy.
VOICES wants all youth to feel capable, lovable, and worthy.
We provide a healthy, welcoming, and lively community center where youth who are transitioning into independent adulthood have access to comprehensive housing, education, employment, and wellness services. The Center offers laundry services, warm meals, winter clothing, emotional support, peer-to-peer coaching, and services to cover other basic human needs.
VOICES also focuses on youth leadership, empowerment, and action. By providing leadership opportunities, VOICES youth and staff work in partnership to build better and more innovative systems to support youth, caregivers, and professionals.
