Veterans Homes Association

Veterans Homes Association

What We Do:

We provide Veterans Home members with enrichment activities designed to help them enjoy the unique environment of our historic home. We also help foster relationships to support the emotional need for connection to others and to nature. Activities include golf tournaments to regenerate the human spirit and the Veterans Puppet Troop for creative communication.

The State provides space, shelter, and medical care which makes life possible. VHA provides quality of life activities and contacts, making life worthwhile.

Depression is a problem for many members with mobility and isolation issues. VHA has the capacity to mobilize resources, promote activities and facilitate member participation. Our beautiful, historic campus provides opportunities for outdoor activities to be enjoyed by our senior and disabled Veterans Home members and community volunteers.

Linkages to other comunity organizations are necessary for our program development. Volunteers and donations drive and guide our activities. Both are needed.

Other Ways to Help:

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Social media development
  • Data base set up
  • Participation in activities
  • Bridging VHA to the new technological world

  • Financial contributions for capacity building or project sponsorship
  • Gift cards for Walmart, Target and prepaid credit cards such as Vista and Mastercard
  • Gift cards/certificates to local restaurants
  • In-kind donations of goods and services including electronic devices and financial or program consultant services
  • Donations of goods and services for fundraising events

Business Partners:

The Yountville Chamber of Commerce will provide six bottles of Napa Fine Wines by random selection of donations made to Veterans Homes Association through CanDo’s Give!Guide.

Connie and Warren Pinckert of Alpha Omega will match the first $500 in donations to Veterans Homes Association through CanDo’s Give!Guide.

VHA's dedicated and empathetic veterans’ work improves the quality of life of Home members, with enrichment activities that promote meaningful communication among members and with the community.
