Napa Valley COAD
Fostering a more resilient Napa County by supporting communities to prepare for and recover from disastersCOAD empowers Napa County residents to be better prepared for, and recover more effectively, from emergencies and disasters. Your support is instrumental in enabling us to reach those who need it most.
With your help, we aim to bring our “Meet Your Neighbor”, “Renters Insurance” and “Until Help Arrives” workshops to 1,500 community members, specifically targeting Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) households, seniors, Adults with Functional Needs (AFN) and households with young children. These populations are often the most vulnerable, with local studies showing 43% of seniors and 52% of low-income households lack emergency kits or plans. We also know 79% of Latino residents in our county earn $50K or less annually, highlighting a significant need within this demographic. Your contributions will allow us to bring preparedness materials and supplies to vulnerable individuals. Our Community Connections program also connects these households to other resources available in Napa County.
By focusing on these residents, we encourage small, meaningful steps toward household and community resilience, fostering vital connections before, during, and after a disaster.
Donated: $935Donations: 18Friends of the Napa Library (FOL)
Empowering literacy and enriching minds. Championing the future of the Napa Library togetherImagine not being able to read words. Picture a young adult staring at homework, desperate for help. Imagine being a child unable to attend a summer program due to the costs. Or an older adult, alone, trying to see pictures of loved ones but unable to navigate a tablet.
Every day, thanks to the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers, we help the Napa Library meet such needs for our community, offering programs like the Summer Reading Adventure and the Memory Lab.
Our impact extends well beyond the library’s walls. We donate books to schools, laundromats, senior housing, hospitals, family centers—even the local jail. Most importantly, we distribute thousands of free books to children each year, helping them discover the joy of reading and the pride that comes with having a book of their own.
By promoting literacy and learning, we open doors to opportunity. Your support keeps our library a vibrant hub of education, culture, and connection, where everyone, from young readers to older adults, feels a sense of belonging.

Past projects include Arbor Day celebrations, building Playground Fantastico, providing youth recreation programs, Senior Activity Center fitness equipment, playground equipment replacements, and Friends of Westwood Hills Park improvements. In 2024, the program provided funding for 64 scholarship recipients, a total allocation of $15,000, to participate in either 2-week summer camp programs (21%) or a series of swim lessons or aquatics related programs (79%). The average scholarship allocation was $238 per child, ages 3 to 16 years old.
With your support, we can continue to empower our community, and positively influence the health and wellness of thousands of residents and visitors who live, work, and play here each day.

Helping those in need locally with food and shelter since 1941Who can a family turn to when their only breadwinner is injured or ill? They can turn to St. Vincent de Paul.
We impact the community by addressing food and housing needs in this diverse Napa community. Our worldwide organization, founded in the 19th century, has been continually active in the Napa community since 1941, giving personalized, practical, “no strings attached” assistance to those in need, regardless of creed, color, gender, or circumstance.
Through personal contact with clients, often including home visits, we tailor our assistance to the unique needs of over 350 families each year, providing what is needed to fill the gaps. Sometimes this means helping families access healthy food, or helping with rent, utility, or transportation costs. Our Thanksgiving boxes are a staple for over 130 families. And our monthly food distribution, coupled with the food recovery program of Feeding It Forward, reliably provides dozens of families with fresh food each month.
In these challenging times of rising costs and increasing food and housing insecurity, having a dependable source of aid offers relief, hope, and peace of mind for neighbors in need.
