JLD Ag Fund
Working to preserve, protect and promote agricultural land in Napa CountyWe are dedicated to preserving farmland and promoting the Agricultural Preserve throughout Napa — protecting the heart of Napa Valley, and the foundation of our region’s rural character and agricultural heritage since 1968.
Our mission is to conserve this irreplaceable landscape by educating the public and local leaders about the Ag Preserve’s history and the vital role of protected farmland in sustaining Napa communities. No other organization places farmland protection at the core of its vision.
We advance this mission in three key ways:
1) Education: We fund agricultural scholarships and programs that highlight the Ag Preserve’s central role in Napa. In 2025, we’re launching public education initiatives at the Napa County Library and the Napa Valley History Museum.
2) Advocacy & Research: We support research on sustainable land use and promote policies that defend agricultural lands from development.
3) Preservation of History: With UC Davis, we’re digitizing two sets of historical Ag Preserve documents to make them publicly accessible.Donated: $11,150Donations: 31Napa Firewise
Helping Our Communities be Firewise and FiresafeWe reduce risk for catastrophic wildfire, which therefore protects lives, property, and ecosystems across Napa County. Through a network of 23 Fire Safe Councils, we help neighbors organize and implement projects that strengthen community wildfire resilience—from grazing to fuel breaks, and beyond.
We lead major fuel reduction projects in partnership with Napa County Fire and CAL FIRE. We secure funding to offer cost-share programs that help residents create defensible space and provide free preparedness resources countywide. Since 2022, we’ve brought in approximately $41 million in grants and contracts to help Napa County become more wildfire adapted. This includes county-funded efforts, CAL FIRE programs, forest health treatments, reflective sign distribution, defensible space assistance, and more. Our portfolio includes over 260 projects, treating more than 3,500 acres of hazardous fuels.
Our priorities are safety and stewardship. Fire-adapted landscapes protect biodiversity, support water systems, and recover faster post-fire. By aligning with local fire agencies, we prioritize high-risk areas, enabling faster response and safer conditions for firefighters when wildfire inevitably comes.

Helping our community care for land, water, soil, wildlife - and each otherBased in Napa County, we’re your local partner in caring for the land, water, soil, wildlife, and for each other. Napa RCD helps build climate-resilient communities and thriving natural spaces by working directly with the people who live and work in the county.
Each year, we connect over 900 local youth to nature through hands-on environmental education. We host workshops for 250+ adults on everything from water-wise gardening to soil health and fire-smart land care. More than 900 volunteers roll up their sleeves with us to clean up creeks, plant native trees, and restore habitat.
We also visit 200+ properties annually to offer expert advice on forest health, pollinator habitat, and sustainable land practices. And we’re in the field surveying fish populations and leading restoration projects that help make the Napa River healthier for all.
At Napa RCD, we believe that taking care of natural resources means taking care of our community—now and for the future.

Cultivating excellence, conserving the land, supporting those who farm it, and building communityWhen viticulture thrives so does our entire community.
We cultivate a thriving Napa Valley by supporting the people and places that make our largest industry possible. Our work centers on two critical areas: protecting Napa’s agricultural heritage and environment, and uplifting and educating the workforce that sustains it.
Through education, advocacy, and community connection, we help over 600 local grape growers farm responsibly and preserve Napa’s natural resources for future generations. Our robust educational programs, developed alongside industry experts, provide nearly 20,000 hours of training annually. We cover topics ranging from vineyard technology and safety seminars to next-generation leadership development.
Together, we champion sustainable farming, conservation, and workforce opportunity; values that ensure Napa Valley’s vineyards, people, and open spaces remain resilient for generations to come.
Our mission is to cultivate viticultural excellence, environmental stewardship, and opportunity for all. When you support us, you invest in a Napa Valley that thrives, today and for the future.

Building a sustainable future for Napa ValleyWe lead the effort to design, fund, construct, and maintain a 47-mile family-friendly paved walking and biking trail from Vallejo to Calistoga. When complete, 85% of Napa County residents will live within 10 minutes of the Vine Trail. Access to walking and biking trails that are separated from automobile traffic improves the health of our communities. It improves the health of our planet by providing a safe, car-free option for moving around and between our communities.
Approximately 37 miles of the Vine Trail have been completed to date. Your support, along with the support of the 28 different local organizations who make up the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition Board has made that happen. Together, we can complete the project that impacts every Napa Valley resident and visitor.
