How We Impact the Community

The Outdoor Connection provides hands-on, interactive learning that sparks the imagination, unlocks creativity and connects participants to their environment. Equipped with microscopes, telescopes, binoculars, nature science equipment and nature art supplies, The Outdoor Connection empowers environmental stewardship by fostering a love of nature.

The Outdoor Connection, a program of the American Canyon Community & Parks Foundation, is Napa County’s first mobile classroom dedicated to nature and environmental education. Launched in spring 2023, The Outdoor Connection serves youth and families at the Napa River Wetlands, schools, community events and summer camps.

Donations help empower youth through nature and the expansion of environmental education in Napa Valley.

Getting our community’s youth out into the natural environment by giving them real-world, hands-on learning from local experts, where they learn about healthy ecosystems, water quality, and plant and animal lifecycles, is what real education is about.

~ Christina Benz, Partner Representative with the Sierra Club Napa Group
