How We Impact the Community

Help Napa Evacuees! CrossWalk impacts the community in myriad ways impacting hundreds of community members each week with 25+ recovery group meetings.

Funds raised will be used to upgrade our facilities as Napa County’s first-to-open-and-last-to-close Evacuation Shelter. Renovating our gym kitchen would be instrumental in serving meals and refreshment to our evacuee guests.  HVAC would provide cool comfort during their stay, however long.

CrossWalk relies solely on member contributions funding yet has slowly improved our space used for sheltering and cooling, making sure they can be used by those with access and functional needs.  Over the last two years, we have invested over $100,000 and hundreds of volunteer hours to remodel our locker rooms, lobby, bathrooms, and kitchen primarily with sheltering and cooling in mind.  Fire-related events usually happen during times of higher temperatures, necessitating the need for a cooling system. to provide greater relief to our guests.

I lost my home in the 2014 earthquake and found more than a cot at CrossWalk; I found welcome, warmth, love, and support as I began the process of rebuilding my life.

Bruno Bardet, fire evacuee

What a $10 donation buys

Shelter guests often represent vulnerable populations. Your contribution makes their resting and waiting more comfortable. That matters a lot.

What a $50 donation buys

Providing comfortable space for vulnerable evacuees helps bring down the temperature of the room literally and metaphorically.
