How to Support Give!Guide Nonprofits
Whether you’re a young or first-time donor or someone who regularly gives to causes about which you care, Napa Valley CanDo’s Give!Guide is for you. Its goals are simple: To raise awareness and funds in support of the exceptional work of nonprofits (NPOs) serving Napa County residents. It does this by inspiring an ever-larger community of givers and by making giving easy!
We gladly accept your donations beginning at $10. With the exception of usual credit card fees, every penny goes to the nonprofits you’ve selected. Napa Valley CanDo is an all-volunteer organization and we don’t take a fee for this project. Our volunteers make the Give!Guide happen as one of our gifts to the communities of the Napa Valley.
The Give!Guide website features brief profiles of each nonprofit and links to learn more about them. On the website HOME page or the individual NPO’s page, simply click in the donation field and enter the amount you wish to donate starting at $10. Donations accumulate in your shopping cart until you check out.
You may donate to one or many NPOs in a single transaction and you may vary the amount you give to each. Donations are tax-deductible.
When you’re ready to complete your giving, go to your shopping cart and check out. You may pay by credit card or check. If paying by check, make note of the transaction number you’ll be given. Write that number in the memo space on your check and send it to the address displayed at check out. Checks are payable to Napa Valley CanDo.
Using a credit card? All donations will be combined into a single charge to your card. The nonprofits to whom you have given will send your tax-deductible receipts at a later date, by regular post or email.
If you’ve paid by check, tax-deductible receipts will be sent upon receipt of your check. No email address? The thank you and tax-deductible receipts will be mailed to your home address as will CanDo’s gift certificate for free offerings from local businesses in January.
Along with your generous cash donations, there are other ways to support these organizations. When you click on a nonprofit’s photo on the homepage, it will take you to a page with more information including other ways you can help, like volunteering or supplying items from a wish list.
