How We Impact the Community

COAD empowers Napa County residents to be better prepared for, and recover more effectively, from emergencies and disasters. Your support is instrumental in enabling us to reach those who need it most.

With your help, we aim to bring our “Meet Your Neighbor”, “Renters Insurance” and “Until Help Arrives” workshops to 1,500 community members, specifically targeting Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) households, seniors, Adults with Functional Needs (AFN) and households with young children. These populations are often the most vulnerable, with local studies showing 43% of seniors and 52% of low-income households lack emergency kits or plans. We also know 79% of Latino residents in our county earn $50K or less annually, highlighting a significant need within this demographic. Your contributions will allow us to bring preparedness materials and supplies to vulnerable individuals.  Our Community Connections program also connects these households to other resources available in Napa County.

By focusing on these residents, we encourage small, meaningful steps toward household and community resilience, fostering vital connections before, during, and after a disaster.

Testimonial

Napa Valley has been impacted by multiple disasters over the last decade. The COAD is an essential hub of information and coordination in all phases of disaster. Thanks to COAD, community-based organizations like ours are more effective in ensuring people are safe, informed, and have resources to manage challenging times.
