How We Impact the Community
Soroptimist International of Calistoga creates life-changing opportunities for women and girls through education, mentorship, and community-based support. We believe that when women and girls are empowered to pursue their dreams, entire communities thrive.
Scholarships to deserving high school seniors are at the core of our mission. Our Palisades Pals scholarships support students at Calistoga’s alternative high school who face unique challenges. In addition, we provide Live Your Dream Awards to women overcoming personal and financial obstacles to pursue higher education or job training.
Other community programs include supporting students in their readiness to learn and to lead. Our Read Aloud Partners Program promotes early literacy by bringing weekly story time and free books—many bilingual—to over 400 local students, helping to close educational gaps from the start. Through S-Club, we mentor high school girls, nurturing leadership, confidence, and a spirit of service.
These programs directly serve Calistoga’s most vulnerable populations and are powered by local volunteers and donations. Every initiative is designed to uplift, inspire, and equip women and girls to shape their own futures—and in doing so, strengthen the fabric of our entire community.
Testimonial
Soroptimist of Calistoga has been a blessing in my life. They have helped me twice with financial support, but their kindness, encouragement, and consistent presence go far beyond that. They stay in touch and truly feel like family. I am forever grateful for their unwavering support and belief in me.
