How We Impact the Community
Imagine that your child is falling behind badly in their classwork; how do you even start to figure out what’s going on? Talk to your child? Of course. Talk to the teacher? Sure. Visit the pediatrician to check out vision and hearing? Good idea.
But what if none of that identifies the problem? That’s when you call ParentsCAN.
ParentsCAN advocates for children with disabilities and special needs within medical, behavioral, and educational systems. Our organization has partnerships with over 50 agencies to deliver services for families, and our staff adheres to standards that are family-centered, diverse, and community-building.
We provide information about different conditions and disabilities, connections to professional services, parenting workshops, classes, and support groups. We teach parents and providers about their rights and responsibilities. Our services are free and comprehensive, so that the whole family thrives.
Although every child with special needs is different and every family is unique, all parents face unexpected challenges as their child grows up. If you have a concern about your child or teen give us a call. We understand - and we are here to help!
