How We Impact the Community
Parents must learn how to advocate for children with disabilities so they receive the help they need to thrive – and sometimes, just to survive. Children in our Napa community have all kinds of challenges, from small learning differences to major medical conditions, and every one of those children needs a grownup who will stand up for them and make sure they have the chance to grow and flourish. Nearly two decades after opening our doors, we provide free services to more than 5,000 Napa County families a year. Our staff are professionals who also all have a child with special needs in their families. They’re passionate about bright futures for children with disabilities, because they’ve walked the same path as the clients they help.
The moms and dads who come to us for information and guidance are often confused and overwhelmed, but still so strong. We provide understanding, community, and connection to resources so they can find the way forward to a brighter future for their child.
Testimonial
It can be overwhelming to care for the needs of a child with a disability. A mom and graduate of our Parent Stress Intervention Program says, “It gave me the power to believe in myself, do everything I set out to do and give myself the opportunity to move forward.
