How We Impact the Community

SpiritHorse Equine Assisted Services exists to connect people and horses with the goal of empowering their lives through compassion and healing. Our program is inclusive, catering to riders of all abilities, with a focus on enriching the lives of individuals confronting developmental, emotional, social, and physical hurdles through lessons, camps, and classes.

Our therapeutic riding classes for kids, teens, adults of all abilities (partnered with NorthBay Regional Center) build confidence, balance, coordination, communication, and self-esteem in participants. We connect with schools, foster families, and homeschool families to promote learning and healing.

We offer specialized programs curated to the particular needs of Veterans, seniors, and individuals living in Memory Care facilities.  These programs build trust and resilience, and provide a calming presence for those who may struggle to relate to other people. Our Trauma Support groups use Equine Assisted Therapies led by a certified therapist.

SpiritHorse spreads joy by hosting community events, school holiday camps, and birthday parties, and by attending outside community events with our mobile petting zoo.

Testimonial

I’m deeply grateful for Spirithorse. After Guillain-Barre left me weak and unable to ride, Charlotte and the team helped me back on horseback using the crest mount. Riding has improved my legs and spirit. Spirithorse truly feels like one of the happiest places on earth. Thank you!
